Competition Overview
Individual written contest for Grades 1–12 (NZ Years 2-13)
Team-based mathematical strategy game
Team-based puzzle challenge
Not applicable for Lower Primary Division

After the individual round, students are placed into divisions by grade/year and grouped into teams by the organisers.

Each team is formed to include students from different countries and, where possible, different grades/levels within the same division.

Who can participate?

SIMOC entry is based on qualifying performance in selected competitions, including SASMO, AMO and SMGF, with some students requiring training before participation.

  • AMO (Nov 2025): Bronze / Silver / Gold / Perfect Score

  • SASMO (Mar 2026): Bronze / Silver / Gold / Perfect Score

  • SMGF (Mar 2026): Bronze / Silver / Gold / Perfect Score

SIMOC 2026 Event Journey

Families can expect a structured event journey including arrival, competition day, marking and tour activities, and the final award ceremony. The parent briefing also includes hotel procedures, check-in guidance and important day-to-day arrangements.

Day 1 (17 Jul 2026)
Arrival in Singapore
Participants from different countries arrive in Singapore, collect their event materials and check into their hotels.
Day 3 (19 Jul 2026)
Free Day / Optional Tour
Students and families may explore Singapore through optional tours while the organising team completes the marking of contest papers.
Day 2 (18 Jul 2026)
Competition Day
Students take part in the SIMOC competitions at the contest venue, including the Math Olympiad contest and team challenges.
Day 4 (20 Jul 2026)
Results Announcement
Competition results are released and participants collect their certificates and medals.
Day 5 (21 Jul 2026)
Award Ceremony & Gala Lunch
The SIMOC concludes with a formal award ceremony and gala lunch celebrating the achievements of participants from around the world.
