British Mathematical Olympiad Round 2 (BMO2)

Competition Overview

  • Academic Value / Why Participate

BMO2 provides an exceptional challenge for advanced mathematical problem-solvers. It develops deep insight, resilience, sophisticated proof-writing and the ability to communicate complex mathematical arguments clearly.

  • Who It Suits

BMO2 is suited to exceptionally strong senior secondary students with substantial Olympiad experience who are confident tackling long, unfamiliar and highly demanding proof-based problems.

  • Prerequisites and Readiness

There is no fixed syllabus. Candidates should be highly confident with advanced Olympiad-style algebra, Euclidean geometry, number theory and combinatorics, as well as sustained investigation and polished proof-writing.
