Asia Mathematics Olympics Finals 2026

Competition Overview

On-site in Tokyo or online. All exam times use Japan Standard Time (JST). Qualification required. PINNACLE registration closes 29 October 2026 at 10:00 pm (NZDT).

  • Academic Value / Why Participate

Give your child a mathematical challenge beyond the classroom and the opportunity to share that experience with students from Japan and other countries. The Tokyo Finals combines the competition with a school visit, Algo Competition observation and a celebration of students' achievements.

With the AMO Tokyo Academic Travel Package, you and your child can make more of the trip through a planned academic briefing and guided reflection. The focus is on how your child thinks, learns and approaches unfamiliar problems, helping them return with ideas for their next stage of mathematics learning. The detailed learning itinerary will be confirmed before travel.

  • Who It Suits

For students who have qualified for the 2026 AMO Asia Finals in Normal Kids Bee, Open Kids Bee, Normal Senior or Open Senior.

Choose Tokyo Finals Entry if your family prefers to organise its own trip, or the AMO Tokyo Academic Travel Package if you would like a planned learning experience and two nights' accommodation. Online entry is available if your child will not travel to Japan. A parent must travel with each student attending in Tokyo.

  • Prerequisites and Readiness

Before you register: please make sure your child has received confirmation of their Finals qualification and division. We will check their entry against the final qualification list.

    • The exam is in English.

    • If you are travelling to Tokyo, your child must travel and stay with a parent.

    • Please arrange your family's flights, travel insurance and transport separately.

    • Tokyo Finals Entry does not include accommodation. The AMO Tokyo Academic Travel Package includes two nights in a twin-share room for you and your child.

Competition Overview

  • Asia Mathematics Olympics Finals 2026

Give your child the opportunity to take on the AMO Finals in Tokyo alongside Japanese and international finalists on Sunday, 6 December 2026. Choose the participation option that suits your family, including online entry if you are not travelling to Japan.

    Choose your family's participation option:

    • Option 1 — Tokyo Finals Entry: Competition entry for your child and admission for one parent. You arrange your family's accommodation and travel.

    • Option 2 — AMO Tokyo Academic Travel Package: Make the Finals part of a focused learning trip for you and your child, with two nights' accommodation and a PINNACLE-led academic programme.

    • Option 3 — Online Finals Entry: Your child competes online at the scheduled. New Zeland Time: KidBee 14:00–15:00; Senior 14:00–15:30, Sunday 6 December 2026.

    AMO Tokyo Academic Travel Package

Turn your child's Finals experience into an opportunity to learn, explore and reflect together. This parent-and-child package brings the mathematics challenge, a Japanese school experience and PINNACLE's academic guidance into one short trip.

What your child can gain from the planned programme:

    • Prepare with purpose. A pre-competition briefing helps your child understand the exam format, consider problem-solving and time-management strategies, and set personal learning goals.

    • Experience an international mathematics event. Your child will take on the Finals alongside Japanese and international students and have opportunities to meet other young people who enjoy mathematics.

    • Explore mathematics beyond the exam. The school tour and Algo Competition visit offer a chance to discover a Japanese learning environment and observe mathematical thinking in a different setting.

    • Bring the learning home. A guided reflection helps your child recognise what they have learned, reflect on their approach and identify areas to develop next. Exam-question discussions will follow the competition's confidentiality rules.

Your stay: two nights in a twin-share room for you and your child, with the programme planned for 5–7 December 2026. We will confirm the hotel and detailed learning itinerary before you travel.

Please arrange separately: your family's flights, travel insurance, airport transfers, local transport, visas, personal spending and meals other than the event lunch. This is a parent-and-child programme, so please plan to travel and stay with your child throughout. The academic itinerary remains subject to final confirmation.

PINNACLE registration closes on 29 October 2026 at 10:00 pm (New Zealand time / NZDT). Choose your preferred option in the registration form and follow the payment instructions provided. We will confirm your child's place after checking eligibility and payment with the competition team.
